Founded in 2018, Brian Viele and Matt Walker envisioned a nimble avionics company that could provide services and products to UAS and UAM aircraft markets that demand commercial quality but cannot tolerate the lead times, lack of flexibility, and recurring costs of legacy commercial aerospace solutions. allocortech has quickly gained a reputation for delivering high-quality fault-tolerant solutions within demanding customer-driven deadlines.
Brian Viele, Founder & President
As the leader of technical strategy, Brian creates high-quality, fault-tolerant platforms for the unmanned aircraft system (UAS) and urban air mobility (UAM) markets. He specializes in safety-critical system design-build. To optimize performance and safety and ensure customer satisfaction, Brian uses tradespace analyses to obtain optimal size, weight, power, and cost (SWaP-C).
Brian previously worked as an electrical and embedded software engineer at Athena Technologies (now Rockwell Collins), Wing, and Zee Aero (now Wisk Aero). Most recently, at Zee Aero, he designed and implemented multiple manned and unmanned aircraft, including Cora, the all-electric air taxi. He started allocortech with the goal of providing all players in the electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) and UAS world with general technology solutions.
Matthew Walker, Founder & Vice President
Matt is a software and electrical engineer with a career focused on highly reliable mission and safety critical systems. He previously worked at Kittyhawk, Rockwell Collins, the Wikimedia Foundation, and FW Murphy, where he participated in the system development of no less than four novel aircraft designs. Having previously worn the hat of software test lead, Matt is additionally familiar with developing the processes, tooling, and documentation needed for formal certification of aircraft systems for the FAA.
