allocortech is proud to be a technology partner of PteroDynamics supporting the US Navy.

In the first week of October, the U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command and U.S. 4th Fleet kicked off an exercise called the Hybrid Fleet Campaign Event. During this event, our partner PteroDynamics, successfully demonstrated nine launch and recovery missions of its Transwing® X-P4 aircraft from the USNS Burlington while it was docked at Key West Naval Air Station. The aim of this demonstration was to show how drones can be used effectively and efficiently to provide ship-to-ship and ship-to-shore logistics in place of crewed helicopters.

PteroDynamics’ Transwing® X-P4 has a patented folding wing mechanism that enables the aircraft to takeoff and land vertically but fly like a fixed wing aircraft when in forward flight. The wing folding mechanism is powered by our Taurus AE motor controller. Because of its unique design, the Transwing is scalable and has the potential to unlock the aerial drone logistics market. We look forward to continuing our partnership with PteroDynamics as they develop the X-P5, a larger version of the X-P4, and move forward with enabling aerial drone logistics at scale for both military and commercial customers.
